Led by senior management, the WIE International delegation paid an official visit to Bangladesh under the Belt and Road education framework. The team held in-depth talks with NAEM Training Center, Confucius Institute at North South University and Daffodil International University on teacher development, Chinese language education, student exchange, joint research and postgraduate scholarship programs. Multiple practical cooperation intentions were reached. WIE will follow up to carry out agreed projects to facilitate student mobility and strengthen bilateral educational ties between China and Bangladesh.
Leveraging the expansive platform of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) educational cooperation, the WIE International delegation recently concluded a special mission to Bangladesh. Led by Chairman Fred Liu, CEO Leaf, and Vice President Brandy Yang, the delegation visited several leading local institutions and universities. Focusing on academic exchange, talent cultivation, cultural互鉴 (mutual learning), and faculty development, the team worked to build robust bridges for China-Bangladesh educational cooperation, injecting fresh momentum into long-term pragmatic relations between the two nations.
Strategic Visits: Fostering Development Through Collaboration
May 8: NAEM Training Center
The delegation commenced its visit at the NAEM Training Center. During talks with the Faculty Training Coordinator, Md. Mostofa Kamal, both sides explored new paradigms for teacher training cooperation. Discussions centered on joint faculty development, reciprocal training programs, and the sharing of teaching resources. Following the meeting, the delegation toured the campus facilities and operational hubs, gaining a holistic view of the center’s educational environment and management systems, thereby laying a solid foundation for future teacher training collaborations.
May 10: Confucius Institute at North South University
At the Confucius Institute at North South University, the focus shifted to cultural integration and Chinese language education. Both parties reaffirmed that language and culture serve as vital connectors for bilateral ties and youth engagement. The dialogue emphasized upgrading cultural exchange projects and broadening student mobility channels to deepen mutual understanding. Recognizing the educational value of Chinese language proficiency, the parties discussed how systematic language learning, coupled with scholarship opportunities, provides Bangladeshi students with a viable pathway to China. Furthermore, consensus was reached on government scholarships, joint research, technical talent cultivation, and career development对接 (alignment), reinforcing the bridge of friendship between the youth of both nations.
May 12: Daffodil International University
Concluding the tour at Daffodil International University, the delegation engaged in highly pragmatic discussions that resulted in concrete agreements. Key initiatives include short-term student and faculty exchanges, industry exposure visits to China, and campus cultural events. WIE provided detailed briefings on scholarship policies for Bangladeshi students pursuing Master’s and Doctoral degrees in China, effectively dismantling information barriers and providing clear guidance for prospective students. A tour of the university’s eco-friendly green campus and smart facilities further bolstered confidence in the sustainability and success of these collaborative projects.
Building Bridges for a Shared Future
This visit addressed multiple core dimensions—faculty training, cultural exchange, and inter-university collaboration—and yielded substantial results. It highlighted the profound eagerness within Bangladeshi society to deepen educational ties and enhance two-way cultural exchange with China. Moving forward, WIE International will systematically implement the outcomes of this visit. By leveraging our global resource network, we aim to facilitate unimpeded channels for student mobility, academic exchange, and cultural interaction. Our goal is to assist domestic universities in expanding their global footprint while providing Bangladeshi students with high-quality, accessible pathways to Chinese education. Together, we will use education as a bond to strengthen China-Bangladesh friendship and write a new chapter of mutually beneficial cooperation.
